Monitoring and debugging with Google Search Console.

The Google search console shows the issues with the site and pages as when the Google crawler crawls the pages. The issues will be shown in the Google Search Console dashboard under Indexing > Pages.

We can search for “Why pages aren’t indexed” under Indexing > Pages to look for the issues with pages.

The possible issues with indexing could be:

  • Alternate page with proper canonical tag
  • Page with redirect
  • Not found (404)
  • Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag
  • Soft 404
  • Duplicate without user-selected canonical
  • Crawled – currently not indexed
  • Server error (5xx)
  • Discovered – currently not indexed

Here is how it looks on the search console. To see the details of each issue you can click on the title of the issue.
